The shortlist and winners were chosen by public vote. The winner in each category receives an engraved sword.

Once widely read (and still beloved in some science fiction communities, as a few on Twitter pointed out to me) Sturgeon no longer has the name recognition of contemporaries Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov .
