New Post At https://sciencefiction.site/in-search-of-zachary-quinto-follows-in-leonard-nimoys-footsteps-again-video/ - We’re all very used to revivals and reboots these days but with the return of iconic sci-fi/mystery series  In Search Of   , one big reason to celebrate (besides its launch on the History Channel) is that actor  Zachary Quinto is a part of this project. Quinto, who first became known to TV fans for his role as the villainous Sylar on the original run of NBC’s  Heroes , leapt to greater heights of fame in 2009 when he took over the role of the most famous Vulcan in the galaxy, Spock, in the updated  Star Trek big-screen franchise. Of course, Spock was first played by Leonard Nimoy in the 1960s television series and, yes, Nimoy later hosted  In Search Of . The series, which originally ran in syndication from 1977-1982 with Nimoy and had a short-lived revival in 2002 on the Sci-Fi Channel starring  The X-Files ‘ ...

It was announced yesterday that Jordan Peele would be bringing a science-fiction series exclusively to YouTube Premium, alongside Key & Peele collaborator Charlie Sanders. Sanders was a long-time writer on Key & Peele and was nominated for three Emmys for his work. New Post At https://sciencefiction.site/watch-the-first-trailer-for-disenchantment-matt-groenings-animated-netflix-show/ - Last year, Matt Groening announced he would be working on a new animated series called Disenchantment for Netflix. Where his series Futurama was a comedic take on science fiction, Disenchantment will be his take on fantasy tropes. The trailer openly frames the show as a counterpart to Futurama (set in the future) and The Simpsons (set in the present). It introduces a medieval fantasy world called Dreamland, as a king lifts the hood off a “no good pile of scum” prisoner, only to discover that it’s his own daughter, Bean. Bean is described as a “hard-drinking” princess, and the show will follow her and her two companions, an elf named Elfo (voiced by comedy actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter Nat Faxon) and a demon named Luci (voiced by actor and TV host Eric Andre). The trailer features Groening’s familiar character designs, b...

New Post At https://sciencefiction.site/harlan-ellison-sci-fi-master-dies-at-84/ - Harlan Ellison, the pugnacious author of A Boy and His Dog, who lambasted society in nightmare fiction and stinging essays for half a century, has died. He was 84. Bill Schafer, an editor at the author’s publisher, Subterranean Press, said Ellison died on Wednesday. The novella was the basis for a 1975 movie starring Don Johnson. Ellison also wrote for major TV series such as Twilight Zone, Star Trek, The Outer Limits and Babylon 5 and won numerous ...
